Anyway
Artist(Band):Martina McBride

You can spend your whole life building
Something from nothin'
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

You can chase a dream
That seems so out of reach
And you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

God is great
But sometimes life ain't good
And when I pray
It doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
Yea- I do it anyway

This world's gone crazy
It's hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart
For all the right reasons
In a moment they can choose to walk away
Love 'em anyway

God is great
But sometimes life ain't good
And when I pray
It doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
Yea - I do it anyway

You can pour your soul out singing
A song you believe in
That tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway
Yea, sing it anyway
Yeah, yeah!

I sing
I dream
I love anyway

thanks for the reminder - I've been ready to say screw it all, and everybody, right now. Life hurts.
Great song. I'm sure I'll read/listen to it many times in the near future....

Gerbmom -
Totally understand. It's easy to feel that way... I am reminded often of the scripture which says "Let us not live as those who have no hope, for our hope is found in Him..."

Hang in there. We are at over 5 years now dealing with this situation, and many folks we though were friends disappeared along the way. We now have a few very close friendships who have endured with us. I much prefer that to being surrounded by alot of people who really don't give a crap about us...
LOL

Hang in there.

I've liked McBride for several years now, and this is a great reminder of why. Not only does she tell it like it is, but she says it well. I cannot say how many times music has turned my eyes back to God. It is so easy to get stuck looking at our problems or our current situation (ex. potential adoption not going well at all) and lose sight of the One that can actually change government, change hearts, and open the doors. Thanks for posting this song... Our God is great even when life isn't. :)

a-licious - thanks for dropping in! Hope you are doing well...

Brett - I know exactly what you mean - it's like sometimes the songwriters are looking over my shoulder and writing about my experiences... I find Dilbert does that as well... but I digress. Was that example a personal one? If so, I will be glad to lift that request up to Daddy...

The Lord bless you both -

Yes. It is a personal example. We are very confused right now, and don't know what God has for us or what the next step is. I feel very much like a ship adrift at sea, and only the One who walks on water can see me safely to the shore.

Brett - I understand, and am praying for you. Sometimes, when circumstances don't move the way we expect them to, it isn't always "no".... sometimes it's "wait". Timing is just as much in His hands as is the answer. It can be so hard to put our full trust in Him when so much is at stake and He placed such a strong hunger in us for the very thing we are waiting for. Kim and I even reached the point where we asked Him to either fulfill the desire he put in us or to remove the desire, because it was unbearable to have such continued disappointment. We had 3 miscarriages in 3 1/2 years. Now, we have two sons, ages 12 and 9, and they are so very wonderful. Every day, I am reminded what a miracle they are, and I think the waiting prepared me to be a better father and really cherish and appreciate them.

The Lord bless you, and provide you the desires of your heart in perfect time.

Sending much love and blessing to your family....
